NATIONAL PARKS IN MONTENEGRO

DURMITOR

With the decision of UNESCO’s International Committee for the World Natural and Historical Heritage in 1980. Durmitor was included in the list of World Natural Heritage.
Along the Tara River canyon, which has the deepest gorges in Europe, the dense pine forests are interspersed with clear lakes and harbor a wide range of endemic flora.

BIOGRADSKA GORA

Biogradska Gora is the smallest of the national parks of Montenegro and is located in the northeast of the country. Biogradska Gora is located in the central part of Bjelasica mountain massif, between 2 beautiful rivers (Tara and Lim), and represents one of the must-visit places for tourists.

LOVCEN NATIONAL PARK

The true spirit and rich tradition of Montenegro, are the best you can feel if you visit the National Park Lovcen. The beautiful nature will leave you breathless, and many historical monuments will inform and bond you with Montenegro.

PROKLETIJE

In 2009, Montenegro declared the area of Prokletije as National Park, which is located between Montenegro and Albania. Prokletije is the most inexplicable, the most unapproachable, and the wildest mountain range on the Balkan peninsula and, after the Alps, in Europe.

LAKE SKADAR

Lake Skadar has been a protected National Park since 1983. The biggest in the Balkans, the lake is a protected habitat of marsh birds, a favorite place for fishermen, naturalists, and tourists who are passing by or intend to stay and visit its coast.
