DAILY EXCURSION IN MONTENEGRO...DEPARTURES FROM KOTOR AND BUDVA...HIGHLIGHTS: THE OLD TOWN OF PERAST, THE ISLAND LADY OF THE ROCKS, THE OLD TOWN OF HERCEG NOVI, PORTO MONTENEGRO IN TIVAT...DURATION: 10 HOURS...TICKET PRICE €40.00 (from Kotor), €45.00 (from Budva)
Boka Kotorska (in Italian bocche meaning “mouth”) is a region surrounding one of the grandest natural features of east Adriatic-the Gulf of Kotor, a series of four bays penetrating 25 km of inland. The names of the bays are the Bay of Kotor, Bay of Risan, Bay of Herceg Novi, and Bay of Tivat. If you want to know the places, history, and natural beauty of those magnificent bays (guests will see all 4 of them), which enable staying longer in the cities of Perast, Herceg Novi, and Tivat we recommend this tour. It has a very relaxed easy driving schedule with many breaks. Morning in Perast, early afternoon in Herceg Novi, and sunset in Porto Montenegro will leave you breathless. Welcome!
WHEN AND WHERE WILL WE START?
The tour starts at 8:00 am from Budva. The next pick-up is in the city of Kotor. From Kotor to Budva is only a 25 km distance. In the off-season, we need 25 minutes of the ride between the cities, but in the very high season, we need 45 minutes which is written in our itinerary. If guests take the private tour we will pick up them from their accommodations.
The departure point in Kotor is from the ECO PETROL gas station next to the main bus station.
The departure point in Budva is from the ECO PETROL gas station next to the hotel Slovenska Plaža
NOTE: The temperature in the summer season can be very high, above 40 degrees, so pay attention to protect your body with adequate clothes, skin with sun cream, and head with a hat. Always have enough water.
WHERE WE WILL GO?
We will go to Perast, Lady of the Rock, the city of Herceg Novi, and Porto Montenegro in the city of Tivat.
Perast is a beautiful small town of 220 inhabitants and belongs to the municipality of Kotor and has been a UNESCO World Heritage since 1979. In its impressive history, Perast was known as the center of the Boka Kotorska navy, which still exists in a symbolic way. Nowadays Perast is the tourist center of Boka Kotorska Bay, which still preserved the dignity of a peaceful town where the spirit of the past truly felt and looks like time stopped there.
Traffic in the city is closed in the summer which makes tourists can safely enjoy sightseeing. We will walk through the main street and see the St. Nicholas church with its belfry, the town square, the Maritime Museum, and the main street where traditional palaces and churches from the 16th-18th century still kept their authentic looks. Usually, we visit Lady of the Rocks first and then we walk around the city of Perast.
LADY OF THE ROCKS (GOSPA OD ŠKRPJELA)
Tourists are always fascinated by the beauty of the two small islands in front of the city. There is a church on each island. St.George is closed, while the man-made islet the Lady of The Rocks is open to visitors. We will go to the island on a short boat ride and where we will stay for up to 40 minutes.
Porto Montenegro was started to build in 2006 and will be fully completed in the next five years. To date, numerous tourist buildings, apartments, the luxury hotel Regent, pool clubs, luxury shops, restaurants, cafe bars, and the Maritime Museum with two submarines from the Yugoslav period have been built here. The prices of food and drinks in restaurants are affordable, so we can freely say that is an ideal place to end our tour. With a light dessert or a glass of good wine, you can enjoy the sunset in the beautifully decorated resort where there are no traffic jams or tourist crowds.
We depart from Tivat no later than 17:00, and then we slowly return guests first to Kotor and then to Budva. Our visit to Kotor Boka Bay will present a wonderful experience that guests will remember for a long time.
The tour is organized by middle-class air-conditioned cars or minibusses. The price of the private tour is per car, not per person. The maximum number of guests in the car is 4. The private tour from Budva costs 180 euros, and from Kotor is 160 euros. Private tours can depart any day.
We give a discount for groups of more than 10 people.
Licensed tour guide in the English language.
